"Over Employment" At Ghana Airways To Be Addressed

Transport Minster Dr. Richard Anane says government is considering its options in addressing what it considers as the burden of over employment at Ghana Airways. But the least among government’s options is the resort to retrenchment.

President Kufuor in his sessional address said the airline was: The Transport Minister says government’s solution to the over employment situation at Ghana Airways goes beyond retrenchment.

"It is not just by way of retrenchment that we can solve the woes of Ghana Airways. If you are restructuring, you do what will meet the people who will be affected by whatever we do."

Anane says government would take a very human centred approach in solving whatever problem is threatening to cripple Ghana Airways. "This government is human so we won't just hack. We will take action which will be sustainable but which also has a human touch."
