Assembly votes 320 million cedis for boreholes

Worakase (Ashanti Region), 16 Oct. '98 Twenty five communities in the Bosomtwe-Atwima- Kwanwoma District which have been deprived of potable water will soon taste good water. The District Assembly has voted 320 million cedis from its resources to finance the drilling of boreholes.

Mr I.K. Nyame, the District Chief Executive, gave the assurance that for the next three years provision of clean water for communities in the district will continue to be of top priority on the programme of the assembly.

Mr Nyame announced this at a durbar of chiefs and people in connection with the Disaster Reduction Week celebration in the district at Worakase in Ashanti .

The DCE also disclosed that the assembly has put in place full use of the rural housing scheme to help provide decent houses for the rural poor as from this year. GRi
