Women Resource Centre receives sewing machines

Reverend Emmanuel Kwabena Mustapha, has donated 46 sewing machines worth 6,500 dollars to the Trinity Women Resource Centre in Yendi in the Northern Region.

The 100,000 dollars centre, which was inaugurated in June last year has been training women in the area with employable skills.

The centre has a number of training rooms for sewing, hair dressing, batik tie and dye and soap making.

Rev Mustapha, who donated the items, said he brought the sewing machines from Panama City Florida, United States to assist the training of more women.

He said girls and women from the Yendi Municipality, Chereponi, Zabzugu, Saboba, Tatale – Sangule and Nanumba North districts would benefit from the sewing machines.

Rev Mustapha said an 18- member team accompanied him from St Andrew Baptist Church, Andrew City Florida, in collaboration with Ghana Baptist Convention Church.

Three hundred local members of the Baptist Church who were baptised were advised to live responsible lives in the new faith to glorify God and become agents to spread the Gospel of peace in their communities.

Lynn Briley, the team leader, said they are in Ghana, to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and support the construction of buildings for the newly established churches.

He said the St Andrew Baptist Church, Panama City, Florida, also intends to sponsor 700 brilliant but needy children of some basic schools in Yendi, Saboba, Zabzugu, Chereponi and Nanumba North Districts.
