Trading activities remain dull

Trading activities on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) remained dull as only 2,600 shares changed hands. Monday's trading session saw investors trading in 6,000 shares. The figure was higher at 69,200 on Friday. Fan Milk Limited recorded the highest sale of 1,100 shares with six others selling either 200 or 300 shares at the close of trading on Wednesday.

The main market determinant gained 0.85 points to end trading at 1,310.83 points as against 1,309.98 points recorded on Monday. The change in the year to date finished at 37.12 per cent while the market capitalisation ended at 4,860.94 billion cedis from 4,859.29 billion cedis.

In the broader market, five equities registered price appreciations Patterson Zochonis (PZ) gained the highest of 40 cedis to finish trading at 1,850 cedis. Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) made two cedis to close at 3,313 cedis while the British-American Tobacco Company (BAT), the SSB Bank (SSB) and Unilever Ghana Limited (UNIL) gained one cedi each to close the day's trading at 940 cedis, 3,860 cedis and 4,203 cedis in that order.
