Stop using Alu-zinc for roofing sheet - Aluworks MD

Aluminium smelter, ALUWORKS, is discouraging the use of Alu-zinc as roofing sheets since it cannot stand the test of time.

Managing Director, Kwasi Okoh says consumers are being ripped off by companies which produce roofing sheets from Alu-zinc.

Some building contractors have resorted to using Alu-zinch for their roofs. But Mr. Okoh told XYZ BUSINESS that those who go for these sub-standard materials do so at their own risk

He said “our law in Ghana regulated by Standards Board says no import of metal sheets should come near less than point four of millimeter.”

Mr. Okoh said roofing sheets are supposed to last long and therefore anything that goes below point-four of the Alu-zinc could be detrimental to homeowners.
