The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Accra East Region, has announced plans to reward 20 loyal customers for their consistent payment of electricity bills and continued support as part of activities marking the 2026 Customer Service Week celebration.
The week-long celebration, scheduled from Monday, October 26, to Friday, October 30, 2026, is being held under the theme “The Extra Mile,” which seeks to promote improved customer service, strengthen relationships with customers and encourage greater responsiveness to their needs.
Speaking at a media engagement on Monday, October 26, 2026, the Accra East Regional General Manager of ECG, Ing Dr Bismark Otoo, said the initiative forms part of the company's commitment to recognising customers who consistently honour their financial obligations.
According to him, the selected customers will receive certificates of appreciation and ECG-branded souvenirs in recognition of their loyalty, timely payment of electricity bills and continued partnership with the company.

He explained that management would visit the beneficiaries across the region's eight operational districts, namely Makola, Teshie, Roman Ridge, Akwapem Mampong, Dodowa, Legon, Kwabenya and Adenta.
“This initiative is our way of saying thank you to customers who demonstrate commitment to meeting their payment obligations,” he stated.
Ing Dr Otoo indicated that the exercise would also provide an opportunity for management to interact directly with customers, listen to their concerns and receive suggestions on ways to improve service delivery.
He expressed optimism that the recognition would motivate other customers to pay their electricity bills promptly and contribute to the sustainability of ECG's operations.
Among the customers identified for recognition are Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Labadi Beach Hotel, Lancaster Accra Hotel, International Community School, Al-Rayan International School, Lincoln Community School and Aburi Hotel Complex.
Others include Never Thirst Mineral Water, Sintex Packaging Products Ghana Limited, Ghandour Cosmetics Limited, Interplast Limited, KGM Industries Limited, Triple A&B Ventures, K-Frontiers Limited, JRV Manufacturing Company Limited, Amata Industrial Solutions Enterprise, Blow Chem Industries Limited and Best Plast Limited.
As part of the celebration, Ing Dr Otoo announced that ECG would undertake a special initiative dubbed “Leaders in Service,” which would see regional and district managers temporarily assume frontline customer service responsibilities at selected customer service centres.
He explained that the initiative would allow management to gain firsthand experience of the challenges customers encounter when accessing ECG services.
During the exercise, managers will interact with customers, respond to enquiries, receive complaints and ensure that issues requiring further attention are documented and referred to the appropriate departments.
“As managers, we must understand the experiences of our customers, not only through reports presented to us in our offices, but also through direct interaction with the people we serve,” he emphasised.
He stressed that providing excellent customer service should not be viewed as the responsibility of the Customer Service Department alone but as a collective obligation of every ECG employee.
The Regional General Manager further assured customers that complaints received during the exercise would be appropriately documented and referred for follow-up, although some cases might require technical investigations before they could be resolved.
Ing Dr Otoo also disclosed that ECG would organise customer clinics at selected markets across all eight operational districts to bring its services closer to the public.
The clinics will provide platforms for customers to seek clarification on electricity billing, metering, consumption, payment procedures and complaint resolution.
