Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), Simon Madjie, has called for investments that build industries, strengthen Ghanaian businesses and create sustainable jobs as the country approaches 70 years of independence.

Speaking at the launch of the Invest Ghana Summit 2026 and the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards on October 7, 2026, he said Ghana’s investment drive must deliver productive enterprises, increase exports and generate greater value from the country’s resources.

Madjie said the approaching independence milestone provides an opportunity to shape a new investment narrative that supports Ghana’s ambition to build a prosperous and self-reliant economy.

“Also, as Ghana approaches 70 years of independence, we have the opportunity to define a new investment narrative for the country, one centred on productive investment that builds industries, adds value to our resources, strengthens Ghanaian enterprises, expands exports and creates sustainable jobs,” he stated.

According to him, improvements in economic growth, inflation and exchange rate stability have helped restore investor confidence.

Ghana must now mobilise the investment, technology and expertise needed to translate those gains into lasting economic opportunities, he said.

He identified the Big Push Programme, the 24-hour economy and the Accelerated Export Development Programme as initiatives creating opportunities for private businesses to invest and form partnerships across key sectors.

He said the maiden Invest Ghana Summit would connect investors with credible projects, local businesses seeking partners and institutions responsible for facilitating investment.

“The summit is being designed to create the conditions for serious business engagements, investor commitments, partnerships and transactions,” he said.

The summit will bring together investors, business leaders, policymakers and development finance institutions from Ghana and abroad.

It will also host the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards, which will recognise companies contributing to the country’s economic development.

Madjie therefore urged the business community, diplomatic missions and development partners to support the summit and help secure investments that translate into jobs, stronger enterprises and sustained economic growth.
