President John Mahama has directed key officials involved in a dispute over a development project at Community 1 Site 3 in Tema to appear before him on Monday, August 17, 2026.

According to a report by citinewsroom.com, the meeting, set for 11:00 am, will bring together TDC Company Limited Managing Director, Courage Nunekpeku, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Ebi Bright, the Minister for Local Government and the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources.

The directive follows growing tensions between the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) and TDC over an ongoing development and project in the area.

The TMA has opposed the project and ordered TDC to stop work, citing the absence of the necessary permit.

Residents have also raised concerns about activities at the site, including the removal of trees, demolition of existing structures, and alleged encroachment on playgrounds and green spaces.

There are further complaints that the project is affecting access routes within the community.

The meeting is expected to allow the parties to present their positions and address the concerns surrounding the project before a decision is taken on the way forward.
