The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, has lauded the Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) for its strong operational and financial performance, describing it as a critical pillar of Ghana’s energy security and industrialisation drive.

Speaking at the company’s 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) over the weekend at the Palms by Eagles Conference Room in Accra, the Minister said shareholders reviewed and adopted the company’s 2025 Annual Report and Financial Statements.

Dr John Jinapor said Ghana Gas recorded significant growth in gas processing and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production during the year under review, while posting a 97 per cent increase in net profit.

“Ghana Gas delivered strong results, recording growth in gas processing and LPG production, alongside an impressive 97 per cent increase in net profit. These achievements reaffirm the company’s vital role in strengthening Ghana’s energy security and supporting the government’s Gas-to-Power agenda,” he stated.

The Minister noted that the company’s performance underscored its importance in ensuring a reliable supply of natural gas for power generation and other sectors of the economy.

While commending management and staff, John Jinapor urged Ghana Gas to sustain the momentum by enhancing operational reliability, expanding critical infrastructure and pursuing sustainable investments to meet the country’s growing energy demands.

“A resilient energy sector is essential to driving industrialisation, creating economic opportunities and supporting national development,” he said.

The Minister assured that the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition would continue to collaborate closely with Ghana Gas to strengthen its capacity and position it as a key driver of Ghana’s energy transformation.

The 8th AGM provided a platform for stakeholders to assess the company’s financial performance and deliberate on strategic priorities to sustain its contribution to the energy sector.

The CEO of Ghana Gas, Judith Adjobah Blay, expressed profound gratitude to the Minister for his support and advice.

She also commended the company’s workers for their contribution to the achievement and called on them to work harder to ensure the company continues to thrive.
