Founder of Rabotec Group, Alhaji Ali Ibrahim, has called on Ghana to shift its focus from exporting raw minerals to developing homegrown mining technologies that can be sold across the world.

Speaking in an interview with the media on Thursday, July 30, 2026, he said Ghana’s more than 100 years of mining experience should be transformed into innovative systems that position the country as a global leader in mining solutions.

“Ghana must not only export minerals; we must export mining innovation to the world,” Alhaji Ali Ibrahim said.

According to him, Ghana has enough mineral resources to sustain mining for the next 300 years, making it the right time to invest in local technologies and expertise.

“We have over 300 years of mineral resources ahead of us. It is time for Ghana to create mining systems that the world will come here to buy,” he stated.

He further urged young Ghanaian engineers and innovators to develop world-class mining solutions, pledging to support promising ideas with investment.

“If 10 or 15 young engineers come together with a unique mining innovation, I’m ready to invest in them,” he added.

Alhaji Ali Ibrahim also stressed that one of the biggest obstacles facing indigenous businesses is the lack of confidence Ghanaians have in local entrepreneurs.

“The biggest challenge is not finance. It is Ghanaians believing in Ghanaians,” he noted.
