The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has begun stakeholder engagements on its Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS), aimed at improving taxpayer experience, enhancing efficiency, and strengthening tax compliance.
Speaking at an engagement with business associations and their members on Friday June 5, 2026, GRA Commissioner-General Anthony Sarpong said the rollout of ITAS is part of efforts to modernise tax administration and improve service delivery.
“ITAS is an Integrated Tax Administration System. It is a technology we are rolling out to improve our customer experience with taxpayers, to ensure that taxpayers fulfil their obligations and that our systems and processes are efficient, timely, and accurate,” he said.

He explained that the Authority had already engaged media practitioners and tax professionals last week, and would continue consultations with various stakeholder groups.
According to him, the objective is to ensure that taxpayers fully understand the system, its benefits, and how to use it effectively.
“We want taxpayers to have the full experience and benefit of the system. One of the ways to do that is to educate them on its use and benefits so that they can embrace it and work with it,” he added.
Sarpong noted that the engagements will continue with specific business associations, urging their leadership to mobilise members to participate in the discussions.
He said the GRA remains open to feedback from stakeholders to help improve the system before full implementation.
“We are open to any group that wants to engage us. Our hands are open because at the end of the day, we believe that in partnership with businesses, when we work hand in hand to improve processes and systems, their businesses will grow, they will create more employment, and they will contribute more to national development,” he stated.
He added that the Authority is targeting a significant increase in revenue collection, noting that Ghana’s tax revenue is expected to rise from GH¢153 billion in 2024 to about GH¢310 billion by 2028.
Sarpong said the goal of the ITAS rollout is to support this revenue target through improved efficiency, compliance, and collaboration with taxpayers and businesses.
