The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has dismissed claims that it is offloading its hotel assets, calling the reports false and misleading.
In a statement sighted by GhanaWeb and issued on May 22, 2026, SSNIT said the adverts in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times were not a call for buyers but an invitation for consulting firms to advise on its hospitality business.
“The engagement is therefore a business improvement and strategic planning exercise intended to enhance operational performance and preserve value, not a divestment process,” the Trust stated.
According to SSNIT, the adverts were solely to hire qualified consultants for Golden Beach Hotels Limited, which manages La Palm Royal Beach Resort, Elmina Beach Resort, and Busua Beach Resort.

The consultants will review operations, recommend turnaround strategies, and draw up a five-year business plan to boost viability, competitiveness, and profitability.
SSNIT stressed that Labadi Beach Hotel, one of its flagship investments, is performing well and remains a strategic asset.
"Management further emphasises that Labadi Beach Hotel, one of the Trust's flagship hospitality assets, continues to perform strongly and remains a strategic investment within SSNIT's portfolio. The Trust is actively supporting the hotel's expansion and growth drive to further improve its long-term value and contribution to the Scheme," the statement added.
The Trust said it is actively backing the hotel’s expansion to increase its long-term value and contribution to the pension scheme.
Management assured contributors, pensioners, and the public that all decisions on its hospitality investments follow sound investment principles, performance reviews, and a focus on sustainability.
“SSNIT remains fully committed to safeguarding and prudently managing contributors' funds. All decisions relating to the Trust's hospitality investments are guided by sound investment principles, rigorous performance evaluation, operational sustainability, and the objective of creating long-term value for contributors and pensioners,” it stated.
The Trust urged the public to disregard reports that it is selling its hotels and reiterated its commitment to protecting pension funds.
