The Human Resource Manager of Telefonika Ghana, Esinam Adablah, says the company’s growing number of shops is helping to create jobs and reduce unemployment in Ghana.

Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb Business on April 30, 2026, during the opening of the company’s Cantonments branch, she explained that Telefonika has expanded steadily over the years from a single outlet in Osu to about 20 branches across the country.

“For Telefonika currently, including this shop, we have close to 20 shops,” she said.

She noted that this growth has enabled the company to employ many young people, especially as sales staff in its branches.

“So that will solve unemployment because we are employing a lot of the youth to work as salespeople in our shops,” she stated.

Adablah added that the company’s journey started in Osu and has now spread widely across Ghana.

“For Telefonika, we opened our first branch in Osu and we have grown, as I said, to 20 shops,” she said.

She further explained that Telefonika has branches in major malls and cities across the country.

“We have shops in all the malls, including Accra Mall, Junction Mall, Achimota Mall, West Hills, Kumasi Mall, Takoradi, not just in Accra, we have outside Accra as well,” she noted.

According to her, the company sells a wide range of products, including phones, accessories, home devices, CCTV cameras, gaming accessories, and televisions.

“We have phones, we have accessories, we have home devices. We have CCTV cameras as well, gaming accessories as well, and we have televisions as well,” she said.

She stressed that beyond business, Telefonika is also helping to address unemployment in the country through job creation.

“Just like every business that is thriving and opening branches in Ghana, we are helping to solve unemployment in the country by employing a lot of the youth in our branches,” she added.

Adablah said the company’s 20 branches reflect its strong growth and impact in the retail sector.

“For Telefonika currently, we have about 20 branches and that's quite a significant number. And that, I can say, has made a dent in unemployment,” she said.

The company says it will continue to expand while making electronics and digital products more accessible across Ghana.
