Experts at the HR Professional Summit 2025 have called for stronger strategic leadership across organisations to drive business success and improve returns for shareholders.

The summit, held on November 21, 2025, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, was themed “Redefining the People Leadership Blueprint.”

Organisers say the event aims to provide a leadership roadmap for both Ghana and Africa.

Executive Director of the summit, Pearl P. Tehoda, told GhanaWeb TV that the goal is to bring thought leaders together to share insights on effective people management.

“HRs are doing their best; we want to add to their voice. We want to give them strategies on how they can lead people, how they can lead their organisations so they are able to deliver return on investment for their shareholders,” she stated.

Tehoda explained that the summit includes a follow-up system through which the strategies shared will be forwarded to participants, along with tasks to guide implementation.

She added that a quarterly follow-up plan will help address organisational challenges and ensure measurable impact.

Industry leader Kweku Awotwi, who attended the summit, stressed the importance of HR professionals fully understanding the businesses they operate in and the expectations of customers and stakeholders.

He warned that repeated failures in leadership can damage public trust.

“I don’t think any company can afford to fail multiple times because companies have a public trust, and the more you fail, it means the more you are not able to deliver on the company’s objectives,” he said.

The summit also featured panel discussions with experts in the HR and PR fields, including Michael Abbiw, Lizzy Kwagbedzi, Patrick A. Akanpaaba and others, who shared insights on strengthening leadership across organisations.
