As part of ongoing preparations for the 2026 Budget, the Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has engaged with workers and smallholder farmers at the Benso Oil Palm Plantation at Adum Abanso, located in the Western Region.
According to him, the engagement forms part of the government's ongoing efforts to ensure that the 2026 budget reflects the realities, hopes, and expectations of Ghanaians.
In a post shared on his X page and sighted by GhanaWeb Business on November 11, 2025, Dr Ato Forson described the interaction as a key component of his visit to the region.

He said the discussion focused on attracting attention and investment to Ghana's palm oil industry as a means of creating jobs and empowering citizens.
“Our discussions focused on how renewed investment and attention to the oil palm industry can unlock massive job opportunities, empower rural communities, and drive Ghana’s transformation agenda!” he shared.
The minister is expected to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy in Parliament on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
The budget statement, to be presented in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution, will outline the government’s plans for the 2026 fiscal year.
