The Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Afesti Awoonor, Deputy Managing Director Adwoa Serwaa Bondzie, and members of the Corporate Communications team have joined the nation in mourning the victims of Wednesday’s tragic helicopter crash.
In a statement reflecting on the loss, the team cited John Donne’s words: “Any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind.”
They pledged to honour the memory of the deceased, stand in solidarity with their families, and join all Ghanaians in observing the three days of national mourning.
The crash claimed the lives of the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.

Other victims included Dr Samuel Sarpong, Vice-Chair of the National Democratic Congress (NDC); Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate; Squadron Leader Peter Anala; Flying Officer Twum Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo.
A candlelight vigil and memorial service will be held at the forecourt of the State House on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in remembrance of the gallant men who died in the line of duty.
