Trade Delegation Attends Fair in Turkey

Minister of Trade and Industry, left Accra on Friday for Turkey at the head of a six-member delegation to participate in the 70th Izmir International Trade Fair.

An official statement on Monday said the trip would enable the Minister to explore avenues for trade and economic cooperation between Ghana and Turkey.

It would also hold discussions with his Turkish counterpart on investment especially in food processing, textiles and garments.

The statement said Ghana would mount a stand at the fair to exhibit textiles, handicrafts, cocoa products, garments, cashew nuts, shea butter and wood products.

Ghana exports to Turkey cocoa beans and pastes, rubber, latex and wood parquetry while she imports from Turkey pharmaceuticals, electrical appliances and wood working machinery.

Other members of the delegation are Mrs. Esther Ofori, Chief Executive of the Ghana Trade Fair Company, Nana Yeboah Kodie Asare, President of the Private Enterprises Foundation, Mr Reindorf Sey, Managing Director of CATAL Limited, Mr Sam Ayensu of the Ghana Export Promotion Council and Mrs Rebecca Ackwonu, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.The delegation would be away for six days.
