Accra Bourse falls on GCB loss

Accra, Dec. 8, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange closed lower on Tuesday, pulled down by a price loss in Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB). As a result, the GSE-All Share Index, the benchmark measure of performance on the Accra bourse, fell by 16.3 points to close at 5,361.83 points down from 5,378.13 points at the previous close despite gains in Fan Milk Ghana Limited (FML).

Tuesday fall brings the year-to-date lost to 48.60 per cent. Traded volumes closed the session four times higher at 611,860 from 140,247 shares on the back of GCB, which sold 572,400 shares. On the broader market, there were two price changes - a positive and= a negative. FML gained GH¢0.07 at GH¢4.80 while GCB went down by GH¢0= ..05 at GH¢0.75. Market Capitalisation dropped to GH¢15,624.55 million compared to GH¢15,636.42 at the previous close.
