Stock index down on HFC loss

Accra, Oct. 5, GNA - A loss by HFC Bank Ghana Limited pushed down the Ghana Stock Exchange All-Share Index during Friday's trading, which saw 415,700 shares changing hands.

The GSE All-Share Index fell by 0.76 points from Thursday's 5,698.71 points to 5,697.95 points.

Enterprise Insurance Company Limited sold 229,500 shares out of the 415,700 shares that changed hands Change for the year also ended down at 13.82 per cent from 13.84 per cent during Thursday's trading.

On the broader market, apart from the 0.0046 GH cedi loss by the HFC Bank Ghana Limited, prices of all other equities remained unchanged. Market capitalisation also ended lower at 11,763.50 million GH cedis from 11,763.96 million GH cedis on Thursday.
