Banking stocks continue to lead the way

Accra, Aug. 13, GNA - Banking stocks continued to lead the way as the Accra bourse edged up in trading on Wednesday.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, grew by 5.41 points to 5,412.59 points from Tuesday's 5,407.18 and change for the year jumped to 8.12 per cent.

Shares that changed hands rose to 1,559,00 from 89,700 with HFC Bank selling 1,163,800.

There were six price changes, all positive.

Ecobank Ghana was 0.0001 GH cedi higher at 1.5001 GH cedis, Ghana Commercial Bank was 0.0094 GH cedis better at 0.7000 GH cedis, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited gained 0.0001 GH cedi at 0.9656 GH cedis, SG-SSB gained 0.0050 GH cedis at 0.9250 GH cedis, Total gained 0.0005 GH cedis at 5.4805 GH cedis and Unilever rose by 0.0010 GH cedis at 2.0010 GH cedis.

Market capitalization was 11,619.16 million GH cedis from 11,615.85 million GH cedis.
