Ghana Bauxite Company honours employees

Awaso (W/R), Dec 20, GNA- The Ghana Bauxite Company Limited has honoured 52 employees of the company for their long and dedicated service at Awaso.

The workers who had served between 15 and 30 years were presented with building materials to help them to put up their own houses before retirement.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Yuam Tremblay, Managing Director of the company said they would continue to improve the conditions of service of the workers and urged them to work harder than before. He said the company was negotiating with the Ghana Railways Company to solve the haulage system problem facing the company. Mr Tremblay congratulated the award winners for their hard work, commitment, honesty and devotion to duty.

Mr John Korasare, the Human Resource Manager, advised the workers to observe safety regulations to prevent accidents at their workplaces. Mr Mumuni Issah, the local union chairman, on behalf of the workers, thanked the management for the honour done them and pledged to work harder than before to uplift the image of the company. 20 Dec 06
