Stock index inches up in quiet trading

Accra, Nov. 3, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) main index inched up in quiet trading on Friday to end the week on a positive note but volumes were still low.

The GSE All-Share Index was 0.06 points better at 4,977.62 points from 4,977.56 points on Thursday but change for the year remained at 4.37 per cent.

ECOBANK Ghana gained two cedis at 12,703 cedis while Total Petroleum gained four cedis at 54,015 cedis.

Total shares traded were down at 53,500 shares from 75,300 shares but market capitalisation was better at 111,617.28 billion cedis from 111,614.38 billion cedis on Thursday.
