NIB opens Agency at Wenchi

Wenchi (B/A), Oct. 21, GNA - The National Investment Bank (NIB) has opened an Agency at Wenchi, the third in the Brong-Ahafo Region after Sunyani and Techiman.

Mr Alex Obeng Akuamoah, Manager of the Wenchi Agency, told the Ghana News Agency that opening of the new Agency formed part of a national drive by the Bank to reach more people.

Mr Akuamoah said as part of the drive, they will be reaching out to schools to inform teachers of the Bank's programmes and products. He said institutions such as the Wenchi District Assembly, the Wenchi Methodist Hospital, Emil Memorial Clinic, the District Fire Service Station, the District Police Station and the Traditional Council have also been made aware of the Bank's products.

He said the Bank would provide special and specific services for businessmen and women, as well as, groups such as churches who would like to deposit savings at the weekends.

The National Investment Bank offers personal loans and salary advances to their customers, Mr Akuamoah said, adding that processing of loans is very fast.

The Bank also has extended working hours, opening at 0830 hours and closing at 1700 hours from Mondays through Fridays. Mr Akuamoah stressed the need for Assembly members, traditional rulers, as well as religious leaders to educate the people about the importance of saving.

He said the NIB was working to promote the development of the communities and that another Agency would be opened at Kintampo by the end of the year. 21 Oct. 06
