Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Ghana’s largest private waste management company with operations in other African countries, has been cleared to participate in future Word Bank projects.
This follows the company’s completion of the World Bank’s Corporate Compliance Programme.
A communique released to Zoomlion, the World Bank Groups Integrity Compliance Office at Washington DC, stated ‘….I wish to officially inform you of the ICO’s determination that Zoomlion Ghana Limited and its sanctioned affiliates have satisfied the conditions of its release from sanction of debarment.
The import of this release is that Zoomlion and its affiliates have as of September 23, 2015 become eligible to participate in World Bank funded and administered projects”.
The Executive Chairman and Founder of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong said the Corporate Compliance Programme has brought about an effective system of corporate code of ethics and integrity policies and procedures which now remain a trademark of all our operations across Africa and the International community.
Dr Agyepong stressed that, as a thriving company as ours is normal to face challenges of all sorts, but it is the measures you put in place that determines whether or not we will survive. Amongst the world’s greatest human rights activist Martin Luther King Jr once said, the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands in times of challenges and controversy.
The company’s resolve to overcome the challenge is what has brought us this pleasant outcome. ‘I am eternally grateful to God, the selfless and dedicated management and staff of Zoomlion, the Government and people of Ghana and all our well-wishers for their support during the difficult times. He stated…
The Company is therefore poised to do more business with all international bodies he lamented in future.
