Zoom Alliance commends staff

The Managing Director of Zoom Alliance, Agyenim Boateng Adjei, has commended sanitation workers for ensuring the successful completion of the three-week clean-up exercise in Accra.

Mr. Adjei stated that “we are using this platform to appreciate your efforts and energies in the clean-up exercise because the exercise could not have been successful without your help and hope you will continue to avail yourselves anytime your services are needed.

The Managing Director said this on Saturday when he led his team to access the impact of the three-week clean-up exercise at some markets in the Greater Accra Metropolis.

He further presented assorted items to the sanitation workers at the Castle Road at Osu, the London Market at James Town and Mallam Market in appreciation for their hard work during the clean-up campaign dubbed, “Special Drain Distilling Exercise.”

Some of the items included rice, cooking oil, detergents and biscuits for the Christmas festivities.

Mr. Adjei said environmental cleanliness is a shared responsibility and added that everybody must support the exercise in keeping the communities clean and called for public education to effect attitudinal change.

The manager further urged the workers to be sanitation ambassadors in their respective areas and champion the fight against indiscriminate disposal of refuse since the health of the individual is critical in national development.

He said the exercise formed part of the second phase of intensive clean-up exercise to ensure that drains at Castle Road, London Market in James Town, Taifa, and Mallam Market were distilled.

He further stated that his outfit would soon procure specialized metallic refuse bins and place them at strategic locations across the city to help reduce indiscriminate littering.

He added that refuse tricycles and compressors would also be procured to aid in the quick lifting of refuse into the compressors before transferring them to dumping sites.
