Wonda World Estates and Petronia City Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nana Kwame Bediako on Saturday won the Business Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 5th edition of the Ghana-UK Based Awards (GUBA) in London, UK.
The ceremony took place at London’s plush Hilton Metropole Hotel, Edgeware Road.
The GUBA awards recognize the contribution of individuals in the British-Ghanaian community to the society.
The event, which is endorsed by the British High Commission, Ghana, saw dignitaries such as the former First Lady of Ghana – Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Mayor of Royal Borough of Greenwich – Norman Adams, Councillor John Fahy and Lord Hastings.
This year’s GUBA Awards’ was the most competitive. As in previous years, the program featured a distinguished judging panel comprising members of British-Ghanaian community who reviewed and scored the award nominations.
Accepting the award, Nana Kwame Bediako thanked the sponsors of the event and reiterated his vision of helping build “The New Africa” saying: “We will work hard to change our country, to change Africa and to effect change.”
