Western Union Opens New Branch

Global Access Services Limited in partnership with the Agriculture Development Bank (ADB) has opened another branch of Western Union, a money transfer firm at Ollivant Arcade behind UTC in Accra.

The new branch adds up to seven, the number of branches established by Global Access across the country.

Mr. E. Boakye-Agyeman, Chairman, Global Access Services Board, said the company is in the process of establishing eight different branches of Western Union in the Greater Accra Region in addition to the existing two.

This is hoped to achieve more improvement in the money transfer business and also to make transferred money easily accessible.

Mr. Bill Thomas, President Western Union International, said to due to the wide network system of the company - it has 3000 locations in 47 countries in Africa alone and 120,000 branches in 188 countries worldwide - the firm to render affordable and fast services to customers.

He said they do not only transfer money, but customers can also send messages alongside transferring money.

Mr. Emmanuel Owusu, General Manager, Global Access said the company now operates 7 days in a week to make their services more reliable and convenient to customers.
