Wenchi Tomato Processing Bounces Back

Varieties of tomato seeds and sophisticated machines worth 650, 000 dollars have been acquired for the Wenchi Tomato Processing Project (WTPP) at Wenchi in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

This became possible as a result of collaboration between Afrique Link Limited, a shareholder to operate the tomato plant and the German Technical Co-operation (GTZ) in Sunyani, Brong-Ahafo Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) and Uniliver Ghana Limited.

It is therefore expected that by the end of July this year, the factory which have been defunct for about eight years would begin mass production.

Mr. Kwabena Adu-Gyamfi, the managing director of Afrique Link Limited disclosed these to the ‘Times ‘ here in an interview after an emergency meeting with the Tomato Growers Association in Wenchi, Last Wednesday.
