Chairman of the Kantamanto Used Clothing Dealers Association, Evans Ofori says the association has adopted measures to ensure safety protocols are enforced in the market as they resume for business.

He indicated they have put in place measures to ensure strict enforcement of the safety protocols adopted

Mr. Ofori said they will bare traders who will fail to adhere to the safety protocols from selling in the market.

"We are going to enforce the safety protocols in our markets. We will not allow anyone to sell in the market should they fail to adhere to the protocols.”

He said traders are required to make available running water in ‘veronica bucket-like’ containers in front of their shops for customers to wash their hands before entering their shops or even touch a product they want to buy.

Also, traders are to make available hand sanitisers for customers to apply before and after they make their purchases.

He appealed to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to prevent traders from selling on the pavements.

This he opined will help in enforcing the social distancing protocol.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he disclosed the Association has planned to officially start business activities on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

According to him, they resumed on Monday but business was slow.

He was hopeful business will pick up on Wednesday.
