‎The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has said it does not expect any major policy changes when the government presents its mid-year budget on July 24.

‎According to the AGI, Ghana’s economy is showing signs of recovery, with the Ghana cedi stable and inflation going down steadily.

‎Speaking to Citi Business News, AGI CEO, Seth Twum Akwaboah, said they hope the Minister of Finance will build on the progress made so far in 2025.

‎“What we want to see or hear is indicators that give us further confidence that points us to further improvement in the macroeconomic stability. If we have such stability, companies can expand, can plan ahead and do business,” He said.

‎He explained that Ghana is currently following an IMF programme, so the government is not likely to introduce major new policies outside of that agreement.

‎Akwaboah further pointed to Bank of Ghana data that shows that inflation dropped from 23.8% in December 2024 to 13.7% in June 2025.

‎He added that economic growth has also been strong, with GDP growing by 5.3% in the first quarter of 2025, and non-oil sectors like agriculture and services doing even better.

‎Ghana also recorded a trade surplus of $5.6 billion and a current account surplus of $3.4 billion in the first half of 2025, more than double the figures from the same period last year.
