Vodafone introduces mobile Wi-Fi for SMEs

In an effort to help the growth of small businesses in the country, Vodafone Ghana has introduced a portable mobile wireless Wi-Fi for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The device will also give an opportunity to SMEs to compete without a setup or maintenance cost of a Wi-Fi network. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) 2013 Ghana Banking Survey, small and medium-sized enterprises play a significant role in Ghana’s economy, accounting for around 90 percent of all businesses.

The introduction of the mobile Wi-Fi by is in line with Vodafone’s drive to boost local businesses and customer experience and ensure an improved seamless communication, and provide a faster and better data experience.

The mobile Wi-Fi R208 called “YourSpot” creates a personal portable Wi-Fi zone which allows several Wi-Fi enabled devices for computers, Apple iPhone, iPad touch, or mobile gaming devices such as Nintendo DSi, Android devices including Samsung Galaxy Tablet to share a secure mobile internet.

The device includes a high speed HSPA+ 42.2 Mbps download mobile broadband capability (5.7 Mbps upload) and can be configured to allow files from a MicroSDHC card to be shared among several Wi-Fi devices.
