As part of its commitment to driving a cash-lite society, Vodafone Ghana has dedicated June to its mobile financial service – Vodafone Cash – and outlined a host of activities to celebrate the month.
The initiative is aimed at educating Ghanaians about the service and its innovative Ahotor offer which has revolutionised the mobile money space.
The telecommunications giant will also be rewarding its customers and agents throughout the month with fantastic prizes.
Additionally, Vodafone customers will enjoy up to 30% discount when they use the service to pay for goods and services in selected shops across the country throughout the month of June.
Speaking on the celebration, Director of Vodafone Cash at Vodafone Ghana, Mr Martison Obeng-Agyei said; ‘’Our ultimate goal has always been to offer convenience and ease for all our customers and we are excited that our innovative offers continue to deliver these to our customers. This campaign gives us the opportunity to once again celebrate the strides we have made so far in our journey to become a cash-lite society.’’
”We assure our customers that we have a robust system in place and they can securely transact using our platform, especially with the commencement of the Mobile Money Interoperability which allows customers to send money across networks.’’ he added.
As part of activities for the month, Vodafone will organise several workshops to train mobile money agents on anti-money laundering and compliance; and hold an exclusive event to interact with Mobile Financial Service industry players.
Last month, Vodafone launched Vodafone Ahotor, a Vodafone Cash product which empowers customers to conduct unlimited transactions on the platform at just GHS3 per month.
In its two years of operating the mobile money system in Ghana, Vodafone has embarked on a number of financial inclusion programmes.
The platform also has a wide range of services including pension payments and bulk payment services and insurance for fisher folks.
