Universal Merchant Bank receives Int’l honours

Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), one of Ghana’s premier indigenous banks, was honoured by the Security Watch Africa organization in a ceremony in Dubai.

A statement from the bank said at the Security Watch Africa Awards, UMB was presented with the Award of the Most Innovative and Security Conscious Financial Institution Ghana by the Security Watch Africa organization.

In her acceptance statement, Chief Executive Officer of the Bank Ms. Nilla Selormey cited the bank’s commitment to its customers in driving them to create innovative products and services that add convenience and value through safe and secure measures.

The Most Innovative and Security Conscious Financial Institution Ghana Award is presented to a financial institution that has shown commitment to innovativeness and to a high principle in their security and safety operations.

Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) is a full-service financial institution specializing in customized banking products and services.

UMB is recognized for its entrepreneurial approach, innovative use of technology, and distinctive banking solutions. UMB currently has 24 branches whose number will continue to grow before the end of 2014 and a vast ATM network that continues to expand with the addition of new ATMs.

Security Watch Africa is a media NGO based in Nigeria that focuses on security-related issues and events across Africa. This is the 11th Security Watch Awards. Previous awards were held in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and the Gambia.
