Unity Oil tops oil marketing companies in Africa

Unity Oil has been declared Africa’s most outstanding Oil Marketing Company of the year at the 4th West African Regional Magazine Achievers Awards held in Lagos, Nigeria.
It won the award in the category which had equally giant oil marketing companies from five countries including Cameroon, Senegal, Nigeria, South Africa and Malawi as its contenders.

Unity Oil won the ultimate award based on its consistent good customer services, care for women development and the environment.

The citation accompanying the awards reads, “…For your immense contributions to the oil sector of Ghana with Unity Oil, a trailblazer in the marketing and distribution of petroleum products in Ghana.”

The award, presented by His Spiritual Eminence Nojeen Adeniyi Mautin Sanni, the Alase Orisa Agbaye II, was in honor of Dr Kwame Kyei, the CEO and founder of the Unity Group of Companies.

This adds up to the other two awards that Dr. Kwame Kyei has received as CEO of the prestigious oil marketing company.

He was awarded the Best Petroleum and Gas Entrepreneur of the Year at the Entrepreneur Award in 2013, and again received an honorary Doctor of services and Development degree from International Ministerial Council of Europe –an affiliate of the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Speaking briefly after the award ceremony, Dr Kwame Kyei said he was grateful to God for the great opportunity and honour done him.

He dedicated the award to the company’s customers, transporters and drivers in general, saying that Unity Oil’s success would not have been recognized without them.

Dr Kyei again dedicated the award to the management and staff of Unity Oil, describing them as the ‘best in competency’.

Touching on services improvement and innovations, the Unity Group of Companies CEO said his company will continue to offer affordable prices to customers and strive to continue being the best option among its competitors.
The Publisher of the West African Regional Magazine, Rosette Aliu, said the award scheme was put in place to celebrate outstanding businessmen and businesses in Africa, and added that Unity Oil has established itself as the best of all other oil companies to qualify for the top award.
She said the award will also encourage other businessmen and businesses to attain higher height.

Currently with a workforce of 1,200, Unity Oil has registered phenomenal growth since its inception, attracting the attention of industry watchers over the years. This, coupled with its consistent development of new products, has earned it respect and increasing patronage.

The organizers commends UNITY OIL for employing majority of its workers mainly women. They went ahead to ask the CEO His Honour Dr Kwame KYEI; and he said, women suffer most when it comes to the interpersonal relationship between men and women.

He believe that, by employing most women it will ease them of prostitution at young age; and also help the widow and single parents to earn their daily bread.

His Honour Dr Kyei remarkably deem investors who want to enter into oil businesses in Ghana to look up to UNITY OIL and NATION SERVICES for good deal and prospects which his business outfit could jointly achieve.
