UT donates to underprivileged children

Accra, Nov. 24, GNA - UT Financial Services, formerly Unique Trust, on Monday presented three cheques for GHC 11,000.00 to three organisations committed to improving the lot of underprivileged children.

The beneficiary organisations made up of Hope for Kids Club, Family Outreach International and the Light Outreach Foundation, have one thing in common - supporting needy children to realise their potential. They were presented with GHC 6,000.00, GHC 3,000.00 and GHC 2,000.00 respectively.

For UT Financial Services, the presentation was part of its belief that building a solid foundation for every child was crucial for their total development. Mr Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Chief Executive Officer of the company, said not only was he touched by the plight of the needy but also the spirit and commitment of the proprietors of the beneficiary organisations in bringing together such children and making them realise their potential.

He said it was the responsibility of the privileged to help the downtrodden in the society to realise their full potential. Mr Amoabeng called on other companies to come on board to support efforts at helping the needy in the societies they operate in adding that they did not need to make the highest profit in the world before supporting the needy.

At Hope for Kids Club, eight out of the 110 children are currently pursuing various courses at the university. UT has since last year been sponsoring the education of 10 children from the junior high school level.

Madam Yvonne Kumoji Darko, Proprietor of the Hope for Kids Club, on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked UT financial services for its continued support for efforts at bettering the lot of the underprivileged.

The Light Outreach Foundation which is based in Tema, currently has 33 children under its care while Family Outreach International, which among other things equips women with vocational skills to enable them to live independent lives currently has 143 underprivileged persons under its care and has branches all over the country.
