UT donates to three Organisations

Accra, Dec. 10, GNA - UT Financial Services, formerly Unique Trust, on Monday presented cheques totalling GHC15, 000.00 to three organisations committed to improving the lot of the underprivileged. The beneficiary organisations, which received GHC5, 000.00 each, were the Ghana Heart Foundation, the Ghana National Trust Fund and the Ghana Society of the Blind. Capt Ebenezer Budu Koomson (RTD), the Chief Operating Officer, UT Financial Holding Holding Group, said the presentation was part of the company's social responsibility to ensure that the less fortunate in society received better care and contribute their quota to the development of the country. He said it was important that the privileged in society extend a hand of help to the downtrodden to enable them realise their full potential. Capt Koomson appealed to institutions to support humanitarian organisations to enable them to meet the needs of the needy. Mrs Joyce Frimpong, Executive Secretary Ghana National Trust Fund, said the institution had been at the fore front helping to address the needs of the disadvantaged in society since it was established by Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana. Dr Baffour Gyan of the Ghana Heart Foundation thanked UT financial services for its support to enable the Foundation help people without funds to have their heart problems resolved through surgery. Ms Alimata Abdul Karimu, Programmes Manager of the Ghana Society of the Blind, thanked UT for the support.
