Transport Ministry’s reconstituted Advisory Board inaugurated

The Minister of Transport, Kweku Ofori Asiamah has inaugurated the reconstituted ministerial advisory board of the Ministry of Transport in Accra.

The board is to promote constant interaction between the ministry and users of its services and advise the minister on adjustments in policy direction, planning objectives and operations strategies.

The minister, Kweku Ofori Asiamah who inaugurated the board, expressed his gratitude to all the previous board members who had assisted the ministry in diverse ways.

The vision of the ministry, he said is to create an integrated, cost effective, safe and sustainable transportation system that will support the needs of society, spur economic growth, reduce poverty as well as establish Ghana as a transportation hub within the West African sub-region.

The nine-member board has the Transport Minister, Kweku Ofori Asiamah, as its Chairperson; Daniel Titus-Glover, Deputy Minister and Twumasi-Ankra Selby, the Chief Director of the ministry and Paul Asare Ansah, Director General of Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, as members.

Other members are, Ebo Hammond, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Prof Ameyaw Akumfi, Chair of Ghana Infrastructural Fund, Eva Mends acting Director of budget, Ministry of Finance, George Kennedy Ekwow Mills, Legal Practitioner and Irene Messiba as Secretary.
