Traded shares drop but Index continuous upward trend

Accra, Oct. 13, GNA- Traded shares on Ghana's capital market, the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) slumped to a low of 68,500 from 247,900 shares but the All-Share Index continued gained 34.75 points on the strength of gains in Ghana Commercial Bank and the SSB Bank. The market indices opened the week up at 2,743.17 points from 2,708.42 points.

Change in the year to date reached 96.75 per cent. In the broader market, there were four price changes - all positive.

Market capitalization went up to 10,557.36 billion cedis from 10,469.60 billion cedis.

The SSB Bank gained 999 cedis at 14,000 cedis; Ghana Commercial Bank closed 100 cedis higher at 5,600 cedis.

Standard Chartered Bank and the British-American Tobacco Company gained a cedi each to close trading at 58,612 cedis and 2,807 cedis respectively.
