Trade Ministry to woo investors to Appolonia City

Ministry of Trade and Industry says it will be working with developers of Appolonia City to woo investors into the latter’s industrial park to set up factories.

The Ministry made this known after a team led by Sheila Kangbaree, toured the Appolonia City lands including the designated industrial park.

Mrs. Sheila Kangbaree who was impressed by the extent of work done on the site stated that the ministry will work with developers to develop the industrial park of the Appolonia City.

“We are quite impressed with the extent of work done in the Appolonia city especially the estate part of it. Unfortunately, they have not started the industrial park aspect of it, so now that we are here will be able to help them get investors to develop the industrial,“ she said

She added that government will consider Appolonia’s industrial park in the establishment of 10 new industrial parks across the country as part of plans to create jobs and effectively anchor government’s industrialization programme.

“Government is undertaking an industrial drive where all the 10 regions of the country will see the establishment of industrial parks at vantage point. This initiative is private sector-led but government is to acquire the land first before inviting the investors. Fortunately, Appolonia qualifiers for this plan and government will consider it. They have the land and they are already developing it so its easy for the ministry coordinate anchor tenants in the industrial park.“ she added.
