Dr. Ekwow Spio–Garbrah, the Minister of Trade and Industry, on Wednesday pledged the Ministry’s support towards the resuscitation of Janak Industries, a crate manufacturing factory which was destroyed by fire.
The company, owned by Madam Aisha Salia, caught fire some five months ago, in the Dormaa Municipality.
Items which were destroyed include sliding doors, two paper crate making machines, roofing sheets, air compressors and large quantities of crates valued at $1.5million.
Janak factory is one of the largest crate manufacturing companies in Ghana.
Dr. Spio–Garbrah made the promise when he was accompanied by some officials of the Ministry to inspect the factory as part of a working tour to the Dormaa Municipality.
He stated that there was an Italian grant available for people to access to expand their businesses, and expressed the Ministry’s unflinching assistance in that direction.
Madam Salia expressed gratitude for the goodwill towards her by the Ministry in helping to revamp her business.
The Minister and his team also inspected D. K. Farms and the Light Industrial Area.
