Tonaton.com, Ghana’s most known local website, has unveiled a free new mobile app that enables Ghanaians to consume less data while accessing its online marketplace.
In a press briefing on Wednesday, April 29th, 2015, Sandra Abrokwa, head of Tonaton.com, told reporters that the company was excited to provide its one million monthly visitors access to new and pre-owned items at affordable prices while on the go.
“Tonaton.com is a people’s movement. We are all about providing a platform for Ghanaians to find great deals by connecting and trading with each other online. By simply enabling the data-savings mode in the settings of the app, everyone can access Tonaton faster, easier and cheaper and this is just another example of the value that Tonaton.com provides customers.”
Sandra Abrokwa took the opportunity to also caution Ghanaians on safe online trading, saying that the company is putting stringent measures in place to curb online fraud.
“We know that Ghanaians are savvy traders and while we at Tonaton.com are working on creating a safe environment for online trading, we would also caution our customers to apply the same savviness they display in open air markets to transacting online,” she said.
Tonaton.com’s recently released app is already trending in the top 10 most downloaded free apps in Ghana on the android play store and will soon be available on the Apple play store. Recently, the company was commended by local tro tro and taxi drivers in Accra on their brand-building initiative which saw several drivers win one thousand Ghana cedis for displaying the Tonaton.com stickers on their vehicles.
Tonaton.com launched in April 2013 and offers the largest inventory of jobs and property as well as the widest and largest selection of new and used cars, mobile phones, clothes and other general items
