Aviation Minister Cecilia Dapaah has expressed excitement at the quality of work done on the construction of a new Terminal at the Kotoka International Airport.

The Minister noted that she was impressed with the work done so far and was optimistic that with the work done, the facility could be compared to many others across the world.

She indicated that with the quality of work so far, when completed the facility will be of the highest international standards.

Cecilia Dapaah made these remarks after she inspected construction works on the on-going Terminal three facility at the Kotoka International Airport.

"I want to stress on the quality of the work.We can all see that the monitoring has been effective so we have good quality work, we hope all the sprucing up will done and so that at the handing over stage everything will be up to scratch and we believe that the best quality should be continued as giving us the best quality" she stressed.

The aviation Minister was optimistic that the completion of the ultra-modern facility will put Ghana on the map as the aviation hub of Africa.

The $250 million facility being constructed by the MAPA Construction MNG Holding was begun in 2015 and it is expected to be finished by end of April and handed over to the Ghana Airport Company Limited.

The project includes ultramodern facilities and capacity to handle 5 million passengers a year, capacity to process 1, 250 passengers per hour, six boarding bridges and 7 links (expandable to 8), a large retail area, CIP terminal and a car parking slot of 707 with new road network.

The concern, however, of the Minister was for the facility managers and people who will patronise the facility to value the project.

She believed that for the project to serve its purpose and deliver value for money, it is necessary for proper measures to be put in place which she assured is already being considered.

"This is our fourth visit and we wanted to do this before the final handing over to the Ghana Airport Company Limited, the company that has primary responsibility for the facility. It is impressive, we have all seen it and taken pictures and we hope it will put Ghana on the map as the aviation hub of West Africa" she stated.

The Minister continued, "It is a beautiful edifice and we need to maintain it. You know the cost of the project is $274 million. We need to appreciate what we have and make sure that we the users and we the ones taking care of the facility need to be up and doing to give us the best"
