The Phantom series from Tecno mobile are premium devices you can bank on in terms of hardware and durability. After the device was unveiled at a glamorous event held at the Armani Hotel, Dubai. We got a unit of the TECNO Phantom 6 plus and here is the unboxing and first impression of the device.
The device is housed in a big dark box that has gold inscription of Phantom 6 plus in the front and at the base.
Upon removing the box you are greeted with another box with gifts inside. I opened the gift pack to reveal the gifts inside……
And here are the accessories inside the gift pack
- The smart pouch
- Tempered glass screen protector
- Type A-type C connector
- The beautiful earbuds
I know you are in a hurry to see the device but we have a huge package here, guess the phone is hidden deep inside this box –it’s well protected by an armored wall of package. Finally I opened the box where the device will be housed and I was greeted with the gorgeous device –people around me was singing stand up, stand up for the champion.
Beneath the device, these are the other items we found.
- A two –pin wall connector
- Three-pin wall connector
- USB-type C adapter.
It is fully accessorized and you won’t need to buy any other accessories-everything is included in the package.
So these are everything inside the phantom 6 plus box
Tecno phantom 6 plus is made from top grade material with well-crafted metallic unibody design.
Handling the phantom 6 plus is a pure pleasure-it’s solid and not as heavy as most 6.0-inch devices I have unboxed. The premium finish makes it a secure grip and joy to hold.
The left side of the device houses the SIM/ SD card tray-meaning you can either use a memory card and a Micro-SIM or a Nano-SIM and a Micro-SIM but with 64GB of internal storage, one may not need a memory card.
This ejector pin is housed by the pouch
At the right side of the device, you have the volume controllers and the power button.
The back of the device reveals a stylishly implanted antenna bands (located both at the top and the bottom) similar to what we have seen on flagship HTC devices.
The top of the back has the 21MP camera lens with a dual-LED true-toned flash below. There is a small hole at the top which I guess is for noise-cancellation during calls. The fingerprint scanner sits majestically below the camera and at the middle there is TECNO branding while down below the inscription of Phantom 6 plus is noticeably visible.
The 3.5mm audio jack, is located at the top of the device.
The top of the screen has the proximity sensor followed by the mouthpiece, the 8MP front camera and the single standard flash. While beneath the screen, the PHANTOM branding is stylishly inscribed.
Dazzling with beauty at the bottom are two nicely carved speaker grills flanked on both sides by the newly introduced type-C charging port. The Phantom 6 and 6 plus are Tecno’s first devices to come with USB type-C

First Impression: is the Phantom 6 plus truly a beast?
The Phantom 6 plus certainly packs massive specs with its 2.0GHz deca-core processor paired with whopping 4GB of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage and 21megapixel of rear camera. The 6-inch full HD LTPS screen is a beauty to behold and despite packing huge 4050mAh battery, and full body metallic design, it’s surprisingly light in the hands. This is just the unboxing review of the phantom 6 plus, the full review will follow when the device has fully undergone more demanding tasks.
