General Manager for Micro-Enterprise at GN Bank, Kofi Asamoah-Siaw says his outfit is taking full advantage of the opportunities technology has to offer in order to satisfy its customers and draw in more businesses.
He says if banks do not adopt technology to connect their branches in order to meet all the needs of customers, the customers will shy away from them and look elsewhere for business
He added that technology has made it possible for banks to regularly introduce new products to make life easier for their customers.
Mr Asamoah-Siaw stated that the world is changing so fast that customers are in a hurry to get things done so banks need to keep up with the pace.
“You can use technology to reach your customers, tell them the new things that are happening in your institution and also have a way of linking your websites to your facebook platform and all the rest … we need to come to speed with these platforms so that we are not left out”.
To stay relevant and enjoy the full benefits of technology, Mr Asamoah-Siaw encouraged businesses to “learn from others, you can incubate from in-house and see what is it that you need to do and get the resource in-house to do it or collaborate, buy from others, including hostile takeovers if possible”.
Kofi Asamoah-Siaw was speaking on ‘The role of technology in today’s banking’ at Today Newspaper’s 4th Annual Lectures in Accra on Thursday, 20th July 2017.
