Importers of Renault Trucks in Ghana, Sylva Spare Plus (SSP) has held it's maiden edition of the Renault Trucks Ghana Awards with the aim of rewarding transporter companies who have had a positive impact on the brand.

The event, which is in partnership with the France-based Company Renault Trucks, was held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast city on December 13, 2017.

With a yearly importation of 60 heavy-duty trucks and 15 years of operations in Ghana, Managing Director of SSP, Mathieu Castre, said even though the award does not involve cash, it is a way of recognizing companies in Ghana who have patronized the heavy-duty vehicles for a very long time and have some elements of reputation and efficiency.

“There is no question of money. It’s more about elements of reputation. We want to highlight that they (nominee companies) are really efficient on certain matters. It’s more of a recognition from a big truck maker. It’s based on the organization of the company which includes maintenance, customer care, hard work, adherence to road safety rules and long-term partnership.”

Castre disclosed that with support from Renault Trucks, the award scheme will be on a yearly basis while adding that Ghana “is one of the biggest economies in West Africa and I am confident in the growth of the economy.”

Companies to receive awards are Bash Freight, Golden Exotic Ltd (GEL), Ghana Rubber Products Limited, among others.
