Susu Collectors Association suspends President

Accra, Oct. 8 GNA - The Ghana Cooperative Susu Collectors Association (GCSCA) on Wednesday suspended its Mr Aboagye Manuh, National President, for his alleged involvement in a fake currency deal.

Addressing a news conference, Nana Abboa Offei Akoto, General Secretary of GCSCA, said the decision to suspend the national president was taken by the GCSCA Board of Directors at an emergency meeting to enable the association to manage its administrative duties effectively at the office as well as maintaining its credibility before the public. "The case is still in court and he needs enough time to defend himself at the court and might not have time for administrative work. A final decision would be taken on his role in the association after the determination of the case by the court," he said.

Nana Akoto said, although Mr Manuh's case was an individual affair, the management of GCSCA would do all in its power to expose any person found culpable in order to maintain the credibility of the association. Nana Akoto urged the media to provide information on persons who were found culpable of alleged involvement in various acts in order to make the country a better place.
