The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) is set to meet striking tanker drivers today, Thursday, May 23, 2024, as their industrial action enters day 3.
The Tanker Drivers Association on Tuesday commenced its industrial action over the government’s refusal to approve and implement a framework on how remuneration of the drivers should be addressed over the past six months.
Speaking to Starr News, the Chairman of the Tanker Drivers Association, George Teye Nyaunu warned that they will continue with their strike until the authorities attend to their concerns.
“If we don’t hear from them, we are sitting down until we hear their response. That is our stance. We hope that it will be resolved. Our aim is for the authorities to come in quickly and resolve the issue.”
