Stock index inches up

Accra, June 26, GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) inched up in trading on Friday, gaining 2.9 points at the end of the day.

The main benchmark GSE All-Share index ended at 5,299.03 points from 5,296.13 points.

Change for the year to date is -49.20 per cent. Traded volumes closed the week at 154,600 shares and market capitalisation rose from GH¢15,186.40 million from GH¢15,186.40 million.

On the broader market, there were five price changes, three up and two down.

CAL Bank gained GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.21; Ecobank Ghana was GH¢0.01 better at GH¢2.06; Ghana Commercial Bank also gained GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.52.

GOIL was GH¢0.01 poorer at GH¢0.19 and UT also lost GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.30. M
