Stock Exchange ends year on positive note

Accra, Dec. 31, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) ended the year on a positive note on Friday, thanks to gains by Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) and CFAO.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main stock index, recorded 3.81 points gain to end the year at 6,798.46 points.

Change for the year ended at 91.32 per cent while market capitalisation also closed at 97,614.46 billion cedis from 3,663.42 million shares.

GCB gained 36 cedis at 10,150 cedis while CFAO made a rare 20-cedi gain at 220 cedis.

Total shares that changed hands were 1,001,500 with CAL Bank selling 676,300 shares, while CFAO sold 200,000.
