Members of the Ship Owners and Agents Association of Ghana (SOAAG) have paid a courtesy call on the acting Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Michael Luguje to welcome him as the new Acting Director General and foster good relationship to grow the industry.
The Acting GPHA D.G. Michael Luguje highlighted on the efforts of GPHA to make sure there is enough infrastructure available for the private sector operators to operate profitably and to enhance trade facilitation.
“As a port Authority, we are mindful of our responsibility to make sure that requisite infrastructure is available and to the extent also that the playing field is as level as possible for you the private sector operators to operate profitably and then be able to attract more business through our ports,” he said.
He also suggested that the partnership between GPHA and SOAAG should be strengthened by having regular interactions.
“The expectation is that we should strengthen this kind of partnership. We need to have the opportunity to chat with each other regularly to discuss challenges that we are facing so that we try to address it in a more mutually beneficial manner,” he advised.
Members of the association pledged their support to the Director-General and his team.
